VAN NUYS, Calif. — Douglas H.
Elliot, 78, Van Nuys, Calif., died Friday, June 16, 2006 in Northridge Hospital
Medical Center, Northridge, Calif. He was born July 13, 1927 in Detroit, Mich.,
the son of George D. and Dorothy Hope Elliot. He married June Burnette, she
survives. He served in World War II and worked as a roofing contractor.
Survivors, besides the wife, include: a son, Douglas Elliot, Michigan; a step
son, James D. Hatcher, Texas; a grandchild; nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Gravesite services were at 2 p.m. Saturday in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Covington,
with Pastor Tom Hunter officiating. Dickerson Funeral Home, Veedersburg, was in
charge of arrangements. Preferred memorials to the American Cancer Society. – jlr
